"Family Travel Costs"

A "snouts in trough" benefit that must go

The spending habits of our Federal Politicians..!!!

 for the 6 month to 30 June 2015?

There is one benefit, it’s called "Family Travel Cost" which allows politicians to have their family travel around the country in business class at no cost to them.

 This is paid for by you and me.

I want this Entitlement abolished and the politicians are the only ones that can get rid of it - You guessed right - they have no interest in giving this away. Pity they can’t lead by example and do the right thing - be a true statesman. They are supposed to be there to serve and do the right thing for our country but it seems it is lost on most of them. We have a growing deficit in Australia and we are told that there must be cost cutting and belt tightening.

Again I suggest you could lead by example, abolish the "Family Travel Costs"

this is not an entitlement - this is a blatant abuse of our taxes paid.

IF THEY WANT THERE FAMILY WITH THEM THEY SHOULD PAY NOT US.

The total amount of our taxes used for "Family Travel costs" in just 6 months was a whopping $649,837.88.

On the Federal Government website it is called an Entitlement....?

There are 248 past and present politicians

The top 24 politicians who had extra gravy on their entitlement and spent more than $9,000 each wasting $306,439.38 (47.16%) of this so called Entitlement.

That is 9.68% of the politicians where REAL BIG spenders and taking full advantage of this privilege

Write to your federal representative and ask if they would vote to have this abolished. I have and none have replied..!!

Should I say abuses the privilege - I bet he would not spend this amount of his own money??

This should be dumped completely. 

If they want family with them they should pay 

not the taxpayer.

All I ask is that they work towards being honorable and work for the people 1st, not feather there own nest, keeping themselves contented now and into the future.

I get angry when I see things that should not be available to politicians uniquely, like the  Family Travel Benefit 

This is free travel for family members paid for by us. What other industry gets this perk? 

And how much does it cost us the TAX PAYER?
